Noosh-e Joon!

May your soul be nourished!

Between 2014 and 2016, to draw friends towards the annual performances of a trilogy of durational works that I created about my experience of being a British-Iranian woman*, I launched a pop-up restaurant in St Nicholas’ Market in Bristol, UK, called Pop Up Persia.

Hosting 40 diners each night for a seasonal set menu of a 5-course feast for three or four nights per season, I channelled experiences as a restaurant host, waitress and festival caterer into an offering that shared my Iranian-born predisposition for generous hospitality and huge portions with my Bristol-nurtured love of high-quality local ingredients and rowdy good time.

In Spring 2025, after a few one-off catering gigs and many community dinner parties, Pop Up Persia started to offer a take away service called Persia at Home.

May these ancient recipes nourish you in your own home, with your family and friends. Cooked fresh and with love, most dishes go well with Shiraz wine.

This offering is made with gratitude to all of my communities of belonging, and with deep and humble bows to the women of my lines.

Contact me if you’d like to join the Bristol take-away list or discuss catering for your event.
